Bellows Systems hat mit der Einführung aktueller digitaler Radiographie in sein Portfolio für zerstörungsfreie Prüfungen (ZfP) einen wichtigen Schritt in Richtung Qualität und Innovation getan. With an active area of 233 mm x 291 mm, the D-DR 2430 NDT offers a medium size that is ideal for most radiographic testing tasks. What makes it perfect for use with gamma sources is the gadolinium oxysulfide (GOS) Plus scintillator. The Plus scintillator was specially developed for applications requiring maximum sensitivity to high-energy and hard radiation.

The role of metallic screens in computed radiography for controlling scattered radiation is very well-known. This paper extends this topic further and quantitatively investigates how image quality in terms of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and basic spatial resolution (SRb) is influenced by metallic screens when Iridium-192 is used as the radiation source.
